A Deep Thought of My Own...
From 2Millionth Web Log

No, I'm not going to channel an inner Joe-the-Plumber (see below), but I do find it interesting that the anti-evolutionists (including a certain Gret Stet governor) are strangely silent in offering a creationist, ID--or other--explanation for swine, H1N1, or whatever sort of flu you want to call it. Meanwhile, evolutionary biologists are hard at work determining how this particular strain of flu evolved:

The first viruses from the outbreak were isolated late last month, but Dr. Smith and his colleagues report on their Web site that the most recent common ancestor of the new viruses existed 6 to 11 months ago. "It could just have been going under the radar," Dr. [Gavin] Smith [a virologist at Hong Kong University] said.

Of course, for the mouth breathers, evolution is, like everything else, examined only via an astonishingly ego-centric, or, at the very least, homo-centric lens. A point of view so narrow that a horse wearing blinkers might be considered broad minded in comparison.
