From the House to the Big House
From 2Millionth Web Log

Unless he's "vindicated" on appeal, Dollar Bill will be a jailbird. But I'll repeat my .000000002 cents worth from a while back: regardless of how this turns out, and while fully supporting the idea that Mr. Jefferson was and is entitled to defend himself vigorously and to the extent he can under the law, the real crime was his insistence on preserving his personal privilege at a time when New Orleans DESPERATELY needed leadership beyond even the merest hint of suspicion. Jefferson compounded tragedy with selfishness, and lost what little sympathy I might have had for the guy.

Good riddance.
